New President of the Supreme Court of Greece

 

Mrs. Maria Georgiou was elected President of the Supreme Court of Greece on 30 June 2021 and took office on 2 July 2021. Mrs. Georgiou received her degree from the Law School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in 1979 and joined the judiciary in 1983. Mrs. Georgiou has served in all three instances of the Court system and became a Member of the Supreme Court on 22 March 2017. In July 2020 she was appointed Vice-President of the Supreme Court and the President of the Criminal Division of the Supreme Court.
