New President of the Supreme Court of Justice of Portugal

Mr. Henrique Luís de Brito de Araújo was appointed President of the Supreme Court of Justice of Portugal. He took office on 7 June 2021.

Henrique Luís de Brito de Araújo was born in 1954, in Arcos de Valdevez, and completed a law degree at the University of Coimbra in 1978. In 1984 he took up his position as a judge at the Judicial Court of Amares, and was later placed in the Paredes Judicial Circle. He was a member of the General Council of Associação Sindical dos Juízes Portugueses between 2000 and 2003, and in May 2015 he was elected president of the Court of Appeal of Porto.
